Dr AK Sinha is one of the most senior pathologist in the city of Purnea. Calling him the torch bearer of the pathology lab in Purnea will not be a hyperbole . It was Dr AK Sinha who decided to start Maurya Labs (Previously Maurya Central Diagnostic) with a vision to make it the most advanced and reliable lab in the Seemanchal region.

Dr AK Sinha is a graduate and post graduate from Darbangha Medical College. He did his residency from prestigious Ram Manohar Lohiya Medical College and Hospital, New Delhi and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, New Delhi. Before starting Maurya Labs, Dr AK Sinha Pathologist served as Medical Officer with Bihar Government. Dr AK Sinha also served as President of IAPM in the year 2017 and is currently President of IMA Purnea.

It was efforts of Dr AK Sinha that made Purnea the medical hub in terms of lab testing in the entire Seemanchal and Kosi region. He brought the first ever 3 part hemoanalyzer in the Seemanchal and started the TB PCR testing in Purnea before which all PCR tests were sent to Delhi. He was instrumental in making Maurya Labs First NABL accredited lab in entire Seemanchal Region and 3rd in Bihar.

Today patients from not only nearby areas of Purnea but also from Nepal, Bhutan and West Bengal come to Maurya Labs, Purnea. The trust built by Dr AK Sinha along with his son Dr Anurag Mohan made Maurya Labs, Purnea synonymous with Trust and Quality.
