What is C-Peptide Test ?
C- Peptide test is done to know the levels of C-peptide in the blood. C peptide is made by pancreas along with insulin. Levels of C peptide in the blood tells how well is the insulin production going on. An increased level of C peptide may be a sign of kidney disease or liver cirrhosis whereas low levels of C-peptide means that the person is a diabetic and insulin dependent.
