What is Urine – R/M Test ?

The routine and microscopy lab test of a urine sample involves a physical examination to check for the color, odour and appearance. The Chemical examination is done on an analyzer to check the levels of sugar, protein, pH, nitrites, bilirubin etc. A slide is prepared which is then checked under a microscope to see the presence of RBC, WBC, Esonophils, kidney cells etc.

How is the Urine – R/M Test done?

For Urine – R/M test you can collect the sample at your home in a clean plastic or glass bottle. The sample should not be taken immediately when you start urinating. Take the sample midstream. The sample can also be given in the laboratory in a vial provided by the lab. The test is done on a fully automatic Urine Analyzer. Microscopic examination is done by the pathologist using a high resolution microscope.
